Bio-Rad is the market leader in PCR technologies where our expanding portfolio is opening up new avenues in life sciences. We are looking for an experienced and top performing Sr. Director of Global Product Management to lead our Digital PCR Platforms product management team. In this role, the Global Sr. Director of Digital PCR Platforms will develop the strategy and roadmap for the portfolio by representing the customer as well as the business interests throughout product development and the product lifecycle. The position will report to the Vice President, Genomics Product Management within the Life Sciences Marketing organization at Bio-Rad.

How You'll Make An Impact:



  • Define and lead a global strategy including input from regional marketing and commercial teams and key opinion leader customers to assess competition, understand market trends to define products and/or workflows in line with the group's overall business strategy.
  • Leading and executing market and voice of customer research, informing product strategy and product requirements.
  • Identify important value drivers and key risks for the on-market business, and lead the efforts across functions to anticipate and mitigate risks and accelerate value creation.
  • Construct and deliver compelling stories that promote the portfolio of products and the customer problems the products are intended to solve via engagement with commercial teams and customers.
  • Lead relevant meetings with partners and internal functional teams to ensure progress and alignment and to "connect the dots" across efforts.
  • Manage an annual expense budget focussed on driving support of activities that drive product development and evolution of product roadmaps.
  • Lead a team of focused global product managers to successfully manage a portfolio of on-market products and support new product development activities in parallel.


What You Bring:



  • Education: BS in a molecular biology or similar field with knowledge of PCR-based molecular technologies (PCR, qPCR, dPCR, NGS); a master's degree, PhD and/or MBA or equivalent degree preferred.
  • Work Experience: 10+ years in the life science industry with focus on nucleic acid platforms and technologies.
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct management experience of product managers and/or related marketing roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and commercialize new products in large, multinational organization.
  • Data-driven decision maker who is able to identify, prioritize, and resolve complex issues and risks.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining customer focus and inspiring the larger organization.
  • Proven experience with attention to detail, proven analytical skills, and an ability to master complex scientific material and convey these concepts to others in a compelling, understandable manner.
  • Given the extensive contact our group has with multiple internal and external parties, strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence, empathy, including the ability to influence colleagues, resolve conflicts, and align stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds, cultures and disciplines are essential.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% both domestically and internationally.


Location: This position must be based in Pleasanton, CA and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $233,600 to $321,000 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
