Title Labor & Employment - Consultant I Location Chicago Req Number CON-26-00007 Description Resolution Economics is seeking a Consultant I to join our Labor & Employment Practice in our Chicago office, on site, with availability to start in either the winter of 2026 or summer of 2027. Practice Description - Labor & Employment: The Labor and Employment ("L&E") Practice at Resolution Economics is a market leader in providing statistical and economic support in employment litigation and consulting. We have managed thousands of complex and high-profile matters, many national in scope, and have provided expert testimony in class-action, multi-plaintiff, and single-plaintiff employment matters. Our team is among the most experienced in the nation at handling complex wage and hour litigation, including matters involving minimum wage and overtime claims, meal and rest break violations, employee misclassification, and off-the-clock work. We routinely provide data and document management services, design and implement statistical sampling plans, and employ an array of data collection techniques, including surveys and in-person/video observation studies. In addition to our litigation work, we are frequently retained on a consulting basis to assist employers in examining their labor and employment practices. This includes EEOC, DOL, and other state law compliance, as well as proactive studies related to pay equity and reduction-in-force proposals. Our consultants work across all stages of the litigation process from class certification and merits analysis through expert reports, depositions, and trial testimony. Job Description: The Consultant I ("Consultant") position is the entry-level position at Resolution Economics, and no prior work experience is required to apply. Consultants in the Labor & Employment Practice assist with managing documents and data received from our clients. This includes converting raw data into analytical files, verifying data integrity, running statistical analyses, creating charts and tables, and finalizing documents and data for production. In some cases, Consultants may be required to assist in collecting data via observation studies or in-person surveys at client locations. Consultants typically play a major part in forming and testing hypotheses when analyzing data and are expected to be (or become) proficient programmers with a trained eye for details. While Consultants will regularly process data and perform empirical work, they will also be expected to develop a sense of the big picture for each case and to learn how to shape findings into a coherent story supported by prevailing economic theories and statistical methods. The ideal candidate is highly motivated and intellectually curious, with a positive attitude and some exposure to basic statistical software or computer programming languages. We are looking for individuals with a collaborative spirit and a willingness to learn. The Labor & Employment litigation environment can be unpredictable, so the Consultant should be able to handle multiple requests and accommodate tight deadlines confidently. Salary Scale: Consultants are paid an annual salary of between $97,300 and $103,000, subject to all required deductions and withholdings, and not including the value of benefits under any Resolution Economics-maintained benefit plan.
