In this field-based role, you will lead the startup, testing, optimization, and handover of OEM aggregate washing equipment, including wash plants, log washers, classifying tanks, cyclones, dewatering screens, pumps, and water-management systems. You will work closely with our Operational Service Manager, Sales, and Engineering teams to ensure equipment is installed correctly, performs to specification, and meets production, quality, and safety expectations at customer sites.

What You'll Do
  • Lead commissioning and startup activities for aggregate washing systems, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, controls, and water-system verification.
  • Install, test, and optimize equipment such as pumps, piping, valves, tanks, conveyors, screens, cyclones, spray bars, and related structural components.
  • Perform functional testing and performance tuning to support target production levels, product quality, throughput, water usage, and fines recovery.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, water-flow, pump-priming, vibration, alignment, and material-carryover issues.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, OEM manuals, and installation documentation to verify proper setup and flow paths.
  • Work with customers, contractors, plant managers, electricians, project managers, and internal teams to coordinate safe and successful commissioning activities.
  • Train customers and operators on equipment startup, shutdown, maintenance, safety, and best-practice operation.
  • Prepare accurate service records, commissioning reports, test results, punch lists, performance data, and parts usage documentation.
  • Provide routine preventive maintenance guidance and emergency technical support on-site or remotely.
  • Follow all safety protocols, customer site requirements, and applicable MSHA/OSHA standards during commissioning and field service work.
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical certificate or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-7 years of experience in aggregate equipment, mineral processing, industrial machinery, OEM field service, heavy equipment installation, or a related environment preferred.
  • Hands-on commissioning, installation, or field service experience with wash plants or similar industrial systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, including experience with pumps, piping, valves, tanks, conveyors, screens, structural components, rigging, lifting, cranes, telehandlers, and safe positioning of large equipment.
  • Working knowledge of motors, sensors, control panels, PLC systems, MCCs, VFDs, industrial control logic, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics.
  • Understanding of water-flow systems, pump curves, spray bars, cyclone pressure, slurry transport, and related hydraulic or process fundamentals.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, OEM manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, communication, and customer-service skills.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word.
  • Must be able to pass a motor vehicle record check and obtain a U.S. passport.

This position is ideally based in Louisville, Kentucky; however, candidates may reside anywhere in the United States if they live within 30 miles of a major airport to support required travel.
