Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminium manufacturing solutions.


Responsibilities

The Role: Follow programs, documents, drawings, specifications and quality standards, to perform audits as required. Perform audit and surveillance of the Mechanic Verification Process, according to specifications, processes and procedures. Document any audit failures, nonconforming materials, parts assemblies or portions thereof, according to specification, processes and procedures.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform audits and surveillance.
  • Perform audits and surveillance on hardware produced and accepted by all personnel.
  • Monitor and track qualifications.
  • Review collective analysis of customer nonconformance records, Supplier Corrective Action Notifications, and process data for trends.
  • Provide input to Manufacturing and Quality Management.
  • Assist in root cause analysis investigations led by manufacturing.
  • Collect and monitor data recorded during the audit observation process.
  • Audit and review corrective action plans.
  • Forward audit findings and data to the appropriate Manufacturing and Quality Management.
  • Identify areas of improvement and best practices.
  • Apply knowledge of auditing to plan, develop,and execute quality processes / products.
  • Document any non-conforming materials, hardware, software, tools, parts, assemblies or portions thereof, according to specifications, processes and procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain Quality records.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must have experience working with Quality Management System Policies and Procedures (Standard Acceptance Notes, Quality Work Instructions, and Quality Sectional Procedures)
  • Must have working knowledge of Company Policies, Procedures, and Specifications
  • Ability to Investigate and document Root Cause analysis & Corrective Action (Non-disciplinary)
  • Assist in training as applicable to job roles
  • Determine and submit test and investigation statements (Non-disciplinary)
  • Perform process and hardware audits and surveillances
  • Must complete inspection core curriculum training and stay current on all recertifications

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Must be willing and able to work any shift
  • Good communication skills - written and verbal
  • Overall working knowledge of production processes
  • Good computer skills

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $27.55/hour, with potential to earn up to $45.04/hour in accordance with the terms of the relevant collective bargaining agreement.
