Unleash Your Impact as a Project Controls Specialist, Scheduler Are you a meticulous planner with a passion for optimizing project timelines and resources? We are seeking a dynamic individual to play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient execution of critical projects within the energy and utility sector. In this position, you will directly influence project success, transforming complex plans into actionable schedules and precise estimates that drive progress and deliver tangible results. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping project outcomes, contributing significantly to operational excellence and the strategic growth of vital infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Support project management teams by developing, monitoring, and updating estimates and integrated project plans and schedules to ensure efficient project execution.
- Develop and provide in-depth analysis of project estimates or schedules, including CPM software implementation, time impact and delay analysis, and thorough review of periodic schedule updates.
- Ensure the utmost credibility and accuracy of information contained within all estimates and schedules.
- Assist with the preparation of comprehensive project time and/or cost claims.
- Develop and meticulously record project historical estimate/schedule information and critical lessons learned to foster continuous improvement.
- Apply cutting-edge methodologies, techniques, tools, software, standards, and guidelines for estimating and/or planning/scheduling, demonstrating expert knowledge in the application of specialized estimating/scheduling software.
- Ensure that required project estimating and/or planning/scheduling controls are appropriately implemented, rigorously maintained, and consistently adhered to.
- Participate actively in the continuous improvement of the estimating/scheduling organization through strategic benchmarking and maintaining affiliations with leading industry organizations.
- Develop comprehensive master and detail schedules, including major milestones, detailed Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), precise assignment of costs, labor, and equipment to activities, and effective resource leveling.
- Monitor and proactively update schedule progress toward achieving the desired project completion date, consistently informing the management team of any changes to schedule outcomes.
- Prepare and provide clear schedule progress reports, trending charts, insightful schedule analysis, and accurate forecast reports for all significant project activities.
- Analyze the effects on critical path activities, identify project changes that impact the schedule, and develop effective recovery schedules and alternate courses of action to mitigate risks.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business, Business Administration or a related field & 3+ years of job-relevant experience; OR Associate degree in engineering, Construction Management, Business, Accounting, Math, or related field & 5+ years of job-relevant experience; OR High School or GED & 7+ years of job-relevant experience.
- Minimum 3+ years of direct, hands-on experience working within the energy or utility sector.
- Demonstrated hands-on scheduling experience with Electrical infrastructure / Power systems (e.g., substations, transmission & distribution, power plants).
- 2+ years of hands-on experience using Primavera P6, including building CPM logic schedules, WBS, and resource loading.
- Comprehensive knowledge in design scheduling, construction scheduling, program scheduling, and cost & resource loading, including developing detailed WBS, milestones, activity definition, logical sequences, durations, activity dependencies and interdependencies, and activity contingencies.
- Exceptional ability to communicate effectively (verbally & in writing) with individuals at all levels, both inside and outside the organization.
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills consistent with the ability to identify key issues from a broad range of alternatives and recommend optimal solutions for various situations.
- Proven ability to develop and coordinate cross-functional work groups and projects, consistently yielding optimal outcomes.
- Working knowledge of financial & economic analysis, project & risk management principles.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. No visa sponsorship or C2C available.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Understanding of advanced schedule models and methods, schedule quality analysis, schedule strategy, schedule integration techniques, Monte Carlo Analysis, and sophisticated schedule performance analysis techniques.
