About the Opportunity:

We are seeking an NDT Level II Inspector - FPI for our Stuart, FL location. The NDT Level II will perform all aspects necessary for the non-destructive (NDT) testing used in the manufacturing of Turbine Engine components and employee certification test samples according to NAS410 certification Level 2.

Location: Stuart, FL - Onsite. Monday to Friday, 3:15 PM to 11:45 PM (10% Shift Differential).

Responsibilities:

  • Be proficient in proper procedures to set up the equipment and perform non-destructive testing (NDT) by methods such as but not limited to radiographic testing and fluorescent penetrate testing.
  • Know the proper use, basic maintenance and calibration of X-ray equipment such as but not limited to manual overhead door, thermo luminescent dosimeter badge (TLD or film badge), dosimeter pencil, survey meter, chemical mixer, developer, fixer, film processor, test paper, film viewer, densitometer, X-ray tube and control panel.
  • Know the proper use, maintenance and calibration of fluorescent penetrate equipment such as but not limited to PSM-5 panels, dwell tank, dryer, inspection booth, spray gun and water hose
  • Know how to perform NDT tests according to procedures and specific criteria based upon current NAS410 certification.
  • Know how to perform basic NDT evaluations based upon specific criteria current NAS410 certification.
  • Be familiar with Codes, Standards, and other contractual documents that control the method as utilized by TCT.
  • Continue Pursuit Aerospace Technology X-ray and fluorescent testing certification according to NAS410 to achieve Level III status.
  • Maintain current NAS410 Level II certification.
  • Learn to qualify employees according to NAS410. Training of Level I employees, if necessary, is within the scope of qualifications of employees.
  • Learn to develop NDT procedures for new products and improve procedures for current products.
  • Demonstrate a good mechanical aptitude.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three (3) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience for certification to Level II status is based upon NAS/410 TCT QWI 16 requirements.
  • Specifically: The documented training that would satisfy the requirements for NAS 410 certification to Level 2 in Radiographic Inspection film and non-film techniques and Type 1 (Fluorescent) Penetrant Inspection
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the aerospace or manufacturing industries.
  • Experience with NDT Special Process such as chemical processing, FPI, or EDM.
  • Proficient with QMS, AS9100, NADCAP
  • Deep knowledge in GD&T
  • Six Sigma and lean manufacturing experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to pass an eye exam on an annual basis.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and have the ability to hear.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop or crouch.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
  • Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
