Position Summary: An intern supports the assigned bridge inspection and design department by assisting with a variety of tasks, including special project assignments and active participation in project design and documentation, to gain practical experience and support their educational development. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification. Working Conditions Work is performed in a general office environment and, for positions supporting field work, may include substantial time in the field. Office work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Field and inspection work may be conducted outdoors in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions and on uneven terrain, and may require bending, kneeling, or standing, lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds, operating access equipment, and performing work at heights requiring fall protection. Lighting and temperature within the office are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
