A Taste of What You'll Do

The Quality Team Lead is responsible for leading the quality team, ensuring quality performance, cost parameters, and efficient processing-related communication flow and coordination with the Sr. Quality Manager at our 24-hour facility. Leads problem solving for area of responsibility and participates in cross-functional problem solving. This role leads team members through change initiatives and continuous improvement efforts related to Food Safety System.




  • Participates in the development and updating of systems to improve product safety and product conformity.
  • Supports the improvement and management of the document control and record management system.
  • Creates and executes training programs to educate technical operators on the calibration, method of use, and interpretation of results of measurement equipment.
  • Supports the development of standards to meet all quality specifications and recommends changes to procedures.
  • Works with suppliers/CTO's to ensure continual improvement in focus areas as well as FS and QMS compliance align with Gallo standards.
  • Ensures that all activities are in compliance with organization goals and acceptable regulations.
  • Compiles, analyzes, interprets, and reports results.
  • Investigates quality issues and makes recommendations for resolving issues.
  • Monitors and reviews the progress and accuracy of assigned work.
  • Ensures the consistent application of organization policies related to food safety.
  • Manage the food safety team as well as assigns the team with authorities to approve HACCP plan(s) and prerequisite (PRPs) programs.
  • Ensures adequate allocation of resources to support the establishment, implementation, maintenance, improvement, and updating of the FSMS.
  • Continually update the FSMS where necessary or appropriate.
  • Directly supervises and oversees the day-to-day quality operations of a group of employees to assure a smooth workflow.
  • Assigns, monitors, and reviews the progress and accuracy of assigned work.
  • Trains and develops team including problem solving their own day-to-day quality operational issues.
  • Supports personnel investigations and root cause analysis as needed.



What You'll Need



  • Bachelor of Science degree plus 2 years of quality assurance/quality control, manufacturing production/operations, laboratory operations, or engineering experience reflecting increasing levels or responsibility; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of quality assurance/quality control, manufacturing production/operations, laboratory operations, or engineering experience reflecting increasing levels or responsibility.
  • Certification in food safety standards such as ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP, or equivalent.


Experience auditing Food Safety or Quality Systems.



  • Demonstrated team building, leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.



How You'll Stand Out



  • Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology, Engineering plus 4 years of food and beverage production quality assurance experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) CQE/CQA certifications.
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Demonstrated use of root cause analysis or Lean tools.

  • We offer a broad salary range to allow for long-term growth. Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by multiple factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. In addition to the salary, this position may be eligible for bonuses, incentive plans, or participate in tasting room tip pools, as applicable.
  • This position will be based in the location(s) specified in the job posting and requires working on-site with no telecommuting option. You will be expected to live within a commutable distance.
