About The Role

We are seeking an experienced LEADER, who will be responsible for managing all activities within our Craig, CO Branch. This important employee will embody our legacy of service excellence. The salary range for this position is $60,000.00 to $70,000.00. All compensation offers are analyzed individually and take into consideration multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, years of experience, and educational background.

Essential Functions:

Branch Leadership and Team Development

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for branch employees by establishing clear performance expectations, promoting accountability, and fostering a positive, customer-focused culture.
  • Recruit, develop, coach, evaluate, and retain high-performing employees while creating opportunities for career growth and leadership development.
  • Develop future branch leaders by identifying employee strengths, supporting Position Development Plan (PDP) progression, and providing ongoing mentorship.
  • Promote employee engagement by creating an environment built on trust, teamwork, communication, recognition, and accountability.
  • Ensure branch employees understand how their individual performance contributes to branch and bank success.
  • Monitor branch financial performance and expenses while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Manage staffing levels and allocate resources effectively to meet customer and business demands.
  • Partner with other departments to improve processes, enhance customer experience, and support organizational objectives.
  • Keep the Area Manager informed of branch performance, employee development needs, operational concerns, and significant issues.

Business Development and Branch Growth

  • Responsible for achieving branch goals related to deposit growth, consumer lending, customer acquisition, profitability, and overall branch performance.
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow existing customer relationships and attract new business opportunities.
  • Monitor branch performance metrics and implement action plans to improve results when necessary.
  • Lead and support High Performance Growth initiatives and other sales and service campaigns.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, businesses, community leaders, and local organizations to increase the bank's visibility and market presence.
  • Represent the bank at community events, networking opportunities, and business development activities.

Customer Experience and Relationship Management

  • Ensure delivery of exceptional customer service throughout the branch.
  • Resolve complex customer concerns and service issues requiring management involvement.
  • Promote a culture where employees proactively identify customer needs and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
  • Maintain a visible presence within the branch and actively participate in relationship development with key customers and prospects.
  • Ensure customers consistently experience professionalism, responsiveness, and personalized service.

Banking and Operational Support

  • Maintain working knowledge of Teller, New Account Representative, Personal Banker, Consumer Lending, and Branch Operations functions.
  • Provide support in customer-facing and operational roles when needed to maintain service levels and operational effectiveness.
  • Serve as a resource and subject matter expert for branch employees.
  • Exercise approval authority and sound judgment within assigned limits and bank policy.
  • Maintain overall responsibility for branch operations, staffing, service delivery, operational effectiveness, and audit readiness.
  • Obtain and maintain a Notary Public commission, at the discretion of the Area Manager, and provide notary services to customers as needed while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and bank procedures.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure branch operations comply with all applicable banking regulations, company policies, security standards, and operational procedures.
  • Promote a culture of risk awareness by ensuring employees understand and follow established controls and procedures.
  • Monitor for fraud trends, operational risks, security concerns, and compliance exceptions and take appropriate action when identified.
  • Review audit findings, quality control reports, balancing records, and branch exceptions and assist in implementing corrective action plans.
  • Protect the confidentiality of customer, employee, and bank information and ensure employees adhere to privacy standards.
  • Ensure timely completion of all required compliance, regulatory, and security training by branch employees.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Adhere to Bank of the San Juans Company Core Values.
  • Adhere to all applicable banking regulations, applicable laws, company policies, management directives, security, and operational procedures.
  • Responsible for the timely completion of all required Compliance and Security training assigned by GBCI and BSJ within the designated timeframes. It is the individual's responsibility to fully understand the content presented in each training module. If clarification is needed, the learner must proactively reach out to their supervisor to request further explanation or additional training as necessary.
  • Responsible for adherence to Bank Security Policy and for reporting security risks to management.
  • Keep management appropriately informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
  • Support the bank's mission by participating in Community Service and Bank sponsored activities, while consistently representing the bank in a professional manner. This includes maintaining a professional image, upholding confidentiality, demonstrating a positive "can-do" attitude, while being flexible, and adaptable to meet both the bank and customer needs.
  • Employee must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
  • Attend and actively participate in required meetings.
  • Provide exceptional internal and external customer service by interacting calmly and professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds at various levels within and outside of the organization.
  • Keeps management informed of relevant operational issues or concerns
  • Represent the bank with professionalism, integrity, and respect for all individuals
  • Additional duties as requested or assigned.

About You

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A two-year college degree at a business or trade school and or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two to Five years of banking experience, including time spent in preparatory positions with a minimum of two years of supervisory experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Understanding of related legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with Branch functions
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and supervisory skills.
  • Well organized.
  • Ability to operate related computer applications and related business
    equipment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Business development skills
  • Ability to maintain an effective and efficient workflow

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
