In this role, you will be responsible for lay out, fits, welding, fabricating, casting, and forging components to assemble structural forms, building, and bridge parts. Scope of Position Performs welding of structural steel and miscellaneous metal components in accordance with approved welding procedures, American Welding Society (AWS) requirements, American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) requirements, shop drawings, and project sp ecifications. Job Responsibilities 1. Set up and operate welding equipment in accordance with approved welding procedures and project requirements. 2. Maintain required welding certifications and perform welding in accordance with AWS and company quality requirements. 3. Assist Fitter with assembly of fabricated members as needed . 4. Use cutting torches and heating equipment to achieve required preheat temperatures as needed. 5. Operate magnetic drills, grinders, and other fabrication tools required to support welding activities. 6. Operate overhead cranes and material handling equipment to position materials and assemblies for welding when properly trained and authorized. 7. Use carbon arc gouging equipment to prepare and back gouge welds as required by approved welding procedures. 8. Interpret weld symbols, welding procedures, and fabrication requirements. 9. Perform welding in accordance with approved welding procedures, quality requirements, and project specifications. 10. Clean and prepare weld joints before, during, and after welding activities. 11. Inspect completed welds for compliance with applicable quality standards and project requirements. 12. Verify weld quality, fit - up conditions, and dimensional requirements prior to welding. 13. Maintain welding equipment, cables, tools, and work areas in a clean and serviceable condition. 14. Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures. 15. Travel as required. 16. Other duties which may be assigned as needed. Education & Years of Experience 1- 2 years of experience in welding. A ppropriate welding certifications required for the type of weld ing being performed. Experience welding structural steel in accordance with AWS and AISC requirements preferred . Qualifications 1. Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage welding tasks, materials, and work priorities. 2. Effective verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively with fitters, supervisors, inspectors, and production personnel. 3. Ability to safely perform all tasks in accordance with OSHA, AWS, AISC, and Haskell requirements. 4. Ability to read and interpret weld symbols, welding procedures, and fabrication documents.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, team members may be required to visit alternate locations, and therefore must have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to do so. This position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10 - 50 pounds. Requires good hand - eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information.
