Under administrative direction, plans, coordinates, and administers the medical student admissions process for the SIU School of Medicine. Oversees all operational aspects of the admissions cycle including application review, interview coordination, data systems management, and matriculation processes. Provides professional guidance in evaluating applicants through holistic review, manages admissions-related programs and events, supervises admissions support staff, and serves as a liaison between prospective students, faculty, and institutional partners. Ensures compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and national medical school admissions guidelines.

25% Directs and coordinates the operational administration of medical school admissions cycle. Oversees applicant processing through AMCAS, WebAdMIT, and Banner systems; manages application screening, secondary application distribution, interview coordination, and matriculation processes. Ensures accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with institutional policies, federal regulations, and accreditation standards governing medical school admissions. 20% Performs comprehensive evaluation of applicants and supports the admissions committee decision making. Conducts holistic review of applicant credentials including academic performance, course rigor, written materials, and experiential background. Provides analysis and professional judgement during admissions committee deliberations and assesses readiness for success in a rigorous medical education environment. 30%
Develops and
coordinates admissions-related programs and recruitment initiatives. Plans and executes major admissions programs including the Student Ambassador Program and recruitment strategies and initiatives. Serves as the primary resource for prospective students, providing guidance regarding admissions policies, application procedures, and academic preparation.
5% Supervises admissions support staff and manages operational workflow. Assigns and reviews work of admissions staff, oversees interview scheduling logistics, and provides guidance and training to ensure efficient office operations and compliance with established policies and procedures. 20% Provides institutional representation, data analysis, and process improvement. Serves as the School of Medicine representative to the Illinois Association of Medical Schools Admissions Officers. Prepares admissions-related reports, analyzes applicant data to support decision-making, and evaluates admissions processes to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend policy and procedural changes that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Masters degree in business, education, communications, social sciences , or a related field.
- In addition to three years of progressively responsible professional experience in admissions, records, registration, student services, or a closely related area of work within an educational institution.

- Bachelor's degree in business, education, communications, social sciences, or a related field.
