Tesla Energy is hiring a Factory Firmware Integration Intern based at the Buffalo, NY GFNY factory. This is a manufacturing-line internship: you will flash, provision, and test Tesla Energy Products at high volume. You will write and debug Go and Python software, help define test coverage at each assembly step, debug units with high failure rates on the line, and work with manufacturing, test, and product firmware so factory firmware can run at rate. You will also work on bringing up testers, finding yield improvements, and reducing cycle time of embedded/on-stationtests.

Location:Buffalo, NY

What You'll Do
  • Writeanddebug Go and Python software used to test Energy products on the factory line, including station automation and tester integration
  • Help author in-process and end-of-line test specifications so each step has coverage that matches the hardware, firmware, and process running
  • Analyze production test data for yield, cycle time, and fail signatures, then drive the fix into station software, process, or firmware
  • Debug failing units on the floor using CAN analyzers, Linux and device logs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and loads
  • Help bring up production-line testers and off-line EOL regression testers that validate firmware before production; support flashing, provisioning, and firmware releases through NPI and sustainingengineering

What You'll Bring
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
  • Experience writing software in Python and/or Go. Comfortable reading other people's code; proposing/implementing fixes

  • Coursework or internships in manufacturing, test, or embedded systems - interest in working next to operators, not only at a lab bench
  • Ability to debug embedded products with CAN or similar buses, serial/Linux logs, and electrical test equipment (scopes, supplies, loads)
  • Working knowledge of, or strong interest in, power electronics, battery systems, or high-voltage energy products, and of what a production test is actually proving
  • Clear communicator who will say when they don't know, own the assignment when the line is waiting, and work on-site inBuffalo, NY. Relocation toBuffalois required for the internship
