IT Senior Platform Engineer

Reports to: Director of IT Infrastructure & Operations

We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to help shape the next generation of Cianbro's IT platform services and evolve the enterprise platforms that power collaboration, communication, and business productivity. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys improving complex environments. You will work across multiple platforms to establish standards, improve reliability, resilience, security, and supportability while modernizing a growing, cloud-enabled enterprise in partnership with infrastructure, security, identity, endpoint, application, and architecture teams. The wage range for this position is $1,900.00 to $2,300.00 per week. Compensation will be determined based on knowledge and experience.

Job Responsibilities:

• Plan, implement, operate, support, and continuously improve enterprise platform services, including OCI, Azure, AD infrastructure, Microsoft 365, Teams Phone, Citrix, virtualization, AVD/VDI, Windows Server, file services, storage, backup, and other shared service platforms.
• Support migrations from legacy on-premises virtualization, application delivery, voice, collaboration, and infrastructure platforms to modern cloud-enabled, SaaS-based, or managed platform services.
• Automate platform provisioning, configuration, maintenance, lifecycle management, monitoring, and operational support using scripting, configuration management, configuration-as-code, IaC, and continuous delivery practices that increase reliability, security, operational consistency, and reduce configuration drift.
• Develop and maintain platform baselines, configuration standards, provisioning templates, implementation patterns, lifecycle plans, operational runbooks, dependency maps, and service documentation.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, systems engineering, or related enterprise technology roles.
• Experience designing, implementing, administering, and supporting enterprise platform services, including cloud platforms, identity services, collaboration platforms, virtualization technologies, and core infrastructure services.
• Experience planning and executing platform modernization initiatives, including migration of infrastructure and services to cloud-based platforms and adoption of modern operational practices.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate, implement, and operationalize new platform technologies while balancing security, reliability, scalability, and supportability requirements.
• Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, and automation technologies, including template-based provisioning, configuration baselines, CI/CD pipelines, and automated platform lifecycle management.
• Working knowledge of Identity-centric Zero Trust principles, including least-privilege access, privileged access management, conditional access, secure administrative access, segmentation, and policy-driven access controls.
• Experience implementing security baselines, platform hardening standards, patching processes, and compliance requirements across enterprise platforms.
• Experience designing and supporting resilient platform services through monitoring, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, replication, high availability, capacity management, and operational excellence practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to independently manage complex technical issues and platform engineering initiatives.
