Description

Markon is building a talent pool of Acoustic Specialists to support future Intelligence Community facility and secure construction missions. This pipeline opportunity is intended to identify experienced professionals to provide specialized acoustic testing and sound attenuation expertise in support of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) and other secure environments. Selected candidates will be considered for future openings requiring acoustic attenuation testing, technical assessments, design reviews, and remediation support in accordance with ICD 705, ICS 705-1, and applicable Intelligence Community requirements.



Responsibilities

    Conduct acoustic attenuation testing and sound isolation assessments for SCIFs and other secure facilities in accordance with ICS 705-1 and applicable technical standards.
  • Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot specialized acoustic test and measurement equipment used during facility inspections and assessments.
  • Analyze acoustic test results, identify deficiencies, and develop technical findings and recommendations.
  • Provide technical guidance on remediation measures to address acoustic attenuation and sound isolation deficiencies.
  • Review acoustic designs, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for new construction and facility renovation projects.
  • Coordinate with customers, engineers, security professionals, construction teams, inspectors, and other stakeholders to support secure facility requirements.
  • Prepare clear and comprehensive technical reports, test results, inspection findings, and supporting documentation.
  • Support multiple assessments and technical priorities in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Acoustical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field; 5 years of specialized acoustics experience may substitute for a degree
  • 4+ years of experience conducting acoustic testing and/or sound attenuation verification in secure facilities
  • Experience conducting acoustic attenuation testing in accordance with ICS 705-1 requirements
  • Experience operating and maintaining acoustic test and measurement equipment
  • Strong knowledge of acoustics, sound transmission, attenuation principles, and applicable secure facility requirements
  • Experience evaluating test results and developing recommendations for corrective or remediation measures
  • Strong technical writing, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills

Desired:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or relevant acoustical engineering certification
  • Experience supporting SCIF inspections and ICD 705/ICS 705-1 compliance activities
  • Experience reviewing acoustic specifications for new construction and renovation projects
  • Experience developing and advising on remediation measures for acoustic deficiencies
  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community secure facilities and construction projects


Salary Range

USD $130,000.00 - USD $180,000.00 /Yr.

The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
