The Performance Coatings Group's Creative Services team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Creative and Marketing Communications Co-Op to provide day-to-day support to the Content team. The Content Co-Op expands day-to-day content capacity while gaining practical experience across the creative asset lifecycle. Working with experienced content team members, this role supports editorial quality, content development at scale and production readiness so communications are accurate, consistent and prepared for effective use across channels.

Additional Details:

  • This role is not remote/hybrid. This role will report Sherwin-Williams Cleveland Global Headquarters located at 1 Sherwin Way, Cleveland, OH 44115
  • Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and business relationships.

Content Development
Extend the Content team's capacity by adapting approved source material and contributing to assignments with appropriate guidance and review.

  • Support content development while building skills in messaging, audience alignment and brand voice.
  • Gain exposure to approved AI-enabled tools that support content development, research, quality assurance and production workflows.
  • Build audience-first content strategy skills by helping connect business goals, source material and audience needs to clear, relevant content recommendations.
  • Learn to organize narrative flow, editorial inputs and channel considerations within integrated creative planning.
  • Adapt approved source material into content for different formats, channels and audiences while maintaining message consistency and intent.

Editorial and Production
Strengthen the accuracy, consistency and production readiness of content and creative assets through disciplined editorial review and preparation across the content lifecycle.

  • Support content research, source material review and editorial preparation to ensure content is accurate, audience-focused and development ready.
  • Support the development, review and quality assurance of content and creative assets across formats and channels.
  • Apply established content standards, governance practices and brand voice principles to help maintain consistency across Creative Services deliverables.

Learning and Development
Build professional capability through structured coaching, progressively complex assignments and an applied capstone experience.

  • Participate in editorial reviews, creative discussions and content interviews to support effective content strategy development needs across PCG divisions.
  • Apply feedback and established standards to improve writing, editing, research and quality assurance skills over time.
  • Collaborate with content, design and video/photo team members to support integrated creative development and execution.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing, Fine Arts, or Creative Writing
  • Must be available for a long-term co-op assignment of approximately 9 to 12 months, with availability of 37.5 hours per week during the summer and 15 to 20 hours per week during the academic year
  • Must have strong writing, editing and proofreading capabilities, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Must have working knowledge of AP Style
  • Must have experience with research, verifying information and organizing source material into clear, usable content
  • Must have experience managing multiple assignments and deadlines while communicating questions, risks and progress clearly
  • Must have at least one (1) year experience with Microsoft Office Applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have a Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Have coursework, portfolio examples or experience related to content strategy, creative writing and editing, journalism or corporate communications
  • Have an interest in integrated creative development across copy, design, video, photography and digital channels
  • Have familiarity with content management, marketing automation or creative review tools
