Description
Our CDL Driver is responsible for loading and delivering gypsum rock from Sprague's Terminal to a nearby wallboard plant located approximately 1.5 miles from the terminal. Applicants must hold a valid CDL Class A license and be capable of operating a CAT 980-sized loader. On-the-job training is provided for loader operations. The position is also responsible for routine light maintenance and general upkeep of trucks, loaders, and terminal equipment. Duties include, but are not limited to, greasing equipment, cleaning and washing vehicles, and checking and topping off fluids. In addition to driving and equipment operation, the CDL Driver will be trained in and expected to assist with various terminal operations as needed. These duties may include conducting safety and security rounds, operating the terminal scale booth, assisting with tying and letting vessels go from the dock, performing general terminal and equipment-related duties, and assisting with other operational tasks as directed. The successful candidate will be expected to work safely, maintain equipment and work areas in good condition, and support overall terminal operations as needed. We provide service to our customers 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. This is a night shift position, working 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule of 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next. The 48-hour week includes 8 hours of scheduled overtime, paid at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate. Additional overtime is frequently available and may be required based on business needs but is not guaranteed. Starting pay is $29.00-$33.00 per hour, plus a 7% shift differential for night shifts.
