Molding Operator

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards in English
• Willingness to complete hands-on training for molding machine operation, inspection procedures, and workplace safety

Experience Requirements

• Manufacturing, production, machine operator, or injection molding experience preferred but not required
• Experience working with measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers is a plus
• Ability to perform quality inspections and maintain accurate production records
• Comfortable operating production equipment and troubleshooting minor machine issues after training

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use common hand tools
• Attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality
• Ability to identify and resolve common machine error messages
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control procedures
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Experience in plastics manufacturing, injection molding, or production environments preferred

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 55 pounds
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the shift
• Ability to safely handle raw materials and finished products
• Manual dexterity to operate machinery, measuring devices, and hand tools
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

Job Duties

• Operate and monitor injection molding machines and support equipment to maintain production goals
• Learn machine operation procedures, identify common machine faults, and restart production after resolving issues
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections to ensure products meet quality specifications
• Assist Molding Technicians and Set-Up Personnel with production activities as needed
• Complete production records, inspection documentation, and other required paperwork accurately
• Change reels, handle raw materials and finished goods, and support material movement throughout the department
• Grind runners and blend virgin material with regrind material as required
• Inspect machine guards and safety devices to ensure proper operation
• Follow all workplace safety procedures, quality standards, and operating instructions
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area through routine housekeeping activities
