This is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to high-impact corporate communications, bringing a unique aerial perspective to projects that inform and inspire both internal and external audiences. Your work will play a crucial role in showcasing the company's facilities, technology, and culture, directly influencing how its story is told to executives, partners, and the broader business community. We are seeking a dynamic Freelance Drone Operator to join a flexible creative team, providing essential aerial coverage for video and photography projects. In this role, you will be instrumental in capturing stunning visuals that complement ground-based production, contributing to a cohesive and professional visual narrative. You will have the opportunity to apply your expertise to diverse projects, from expansive facility overviews to detailed product demonstrations, making a tangible impact on the company's visual identity. Key Responsibilities
- Aerial Photography & Videography: Capture professional drone video and stills for commercial facility, lab, and campus overviews; B-roll and supporting imagery for corporate, B2B, and internal communications; and select product, demo, or culture-focused content where aerial perspectives add visual impact.
- Flight Planning & Compliance: Plan and execute safe, fully compliant flight operations in and around corporate locations, ensuring adherence to all regulations and safety protocols.
- Production Collaboration: Work closely with internal producers to translate creative briefs into precise aerial shot lists and flight paths, ensuring the aerial content aligns perfectly with the overall vision.
- Crew Integration: Coordinate seamlessly with ground-based camera operators and photographers to ensure aerial assets match the overall visual style and production plan, contributing to a unified final product.
- Asset Quality: Deliver clean, stable, color-consistent video footage and stills, ready for immediate post-production integration, maintaining the highest standards of visual excellence.
Required Qualifications
- FAA Certification: Active FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (or equivalent required commercial certification).
- Corporate Aerial Portfolio: Demonstrated commercial/B2B drone portfolio showcasing stable, professionally composed video and still photography, reflecting a high level of technical skill and artistic vision.
- Safety & Regulatory Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of airspace regulations, local flight restrictions, safety protocols, and risk assessment, ensuring all operations are conducted responsibly.
- Producer Collaboration: Proven ability to take direction on set and work efficiently within corporate creative guidelines, fostering a productive and collaborative environment.
- Site Clearance: Ability to work on-site, pass a background check, and obtain a site badge, demonstrating reliability and trustworthiness.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Local presence with flexibility to support short-notice on-site shoots as production schedules change.
- Experience collaborating on sets alongside ground camera and grip teams to match lighting, color, and framing stylistically, enhancing visual consistency.
- Familiarity with corporate production environments (live events, town halls, marketing shoots, or technical facilities).
- Basic working knowledge of NLE software (Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve) to understand downstream post-production handoff requirements.
