HJF is seeking a Program Manager II - Curriculum and Faculty/Student Engagement to oversee a collection of related/integrated projects that together support a long-term research initiative. This position strategically guides one or more project managers and related technical staff to ensure they are all working effectively toward the program's stated objectives. Typically oversees moderately complex scope of work.

This position for the College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS) plays a pivotal leadership role in the administration and strategic direction of undergraduate academic programs, with a significant emphasis on managing academic and accreditation activities. This multifaceted position demands a high degree of autonomy and expertise in managing various critical aspects of program development and oversight.

This position will be in support of Uniformed Services University, Southern Campus, College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS), located in San Antonio, Texas.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.


  • Strategic development, meticulous management, and effective implementation of undergraduate curricula within allied. Collaborate with internal and external academic partners, faculty members across various disciplines.
  • Responsibility to plan/forecast, prepare, approve, and monitor budgets and identifies a budget range of $500,000-$1,500,000.
  • Develop, manage, and implement assessment and accreditation plans for the CAHS. Monitor and evaluate assessment and accreditation needs, policies, and procedures for effectiveness. Serve as the primary point of contact for CAHS with accrediting bodies, preparing and submitting required reports and documentation.
  • Management of the review, development, and official approval processes for all undergraduate degree plans.
  • Fosters strong collaborative relationships with academic advisors and program directors. Strategically guides one or more project managers and related technical staff to ensure they are all working effectively toward the program's stated objectives.
  • Serve as the main point of contact and liaison between internal and external stakeholders. Serve as a primary liaison between the CAHS Dean's office, Vice Dean, Associate Deans, and Academic Partners on all matters related to undergraduate curriculum and accreditation. Facilitate CAHS-level decision-making and policy development concerning undergraduate planning and communications.
  • Oversee a collection of related/integrated projects that together support a long-term research initiative. Manage key program elements. Oversee the evaluation of academic operations and programs.
  • Identify project interdependencies, aligning resources and efforts where appropriate. Collect and analyze data on program effectiveness to make datadriven decisions and reports findings to leadership. Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of new educational programs and initiatives.
  • Actively contributes to the strategic planning process for the CAHS. Identify and pursue opportunities for college advancement and new program development that align with and advance the mission and vision of Uniformed Services University (USU) and CAHS. Actively participate in strategic planning and college advancement in support of the USU Mission and Vision.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's or Doctorate degree preferred within Health Sciences field.
  • Minimum of 6 - 8 years experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of federal budget processes and fundamental principles of project management.
  • Solid Interpersonal skills, including the ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing, build and maintain teams, and identify and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate activities to meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of a variety of software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, proposal/project tracking, and data analysis software.
  • Prior experience in the Department of Defense, Military Health System as a Senior Advisor strongly preferred.
  • Manage the review, development, and approval of undergraduate degree plans, ensuring accuracy and compliance with university policies and procedures. This includes collaborating with academic advisors and program directors to ensure student success.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Military clinical background (preferred). Military Instructor Certification from the branch(s) of Service where experience was gained.

Work Environment

  • This position will take place primarily in an office setting.

Compensation

  • The annual salary pay range for this position is $77,600 - $113,000. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
