Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Job Description

The Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Business Support Specialist II to provide administrative and operational support for the department. This position will play an important role in supporting PM&R faculty and providers, coordinating faculty schedules and departmental activities, assisting with business operations, and supporting the department's Promotion and Tenure process.

The successful candidate will have strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills and will be comfortable managing multiple priorities while working collaboratively with faculty, providers, departmental leadership, and other university partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and business support for PM&R providers practicing at the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute (MOI).
  • Provide administrative and operational support for PM&R faculty practicing at NextGen Precision Health.
  • Assist with faculty schedule management, including reviewing schedules to help optimize faculty time and ensuring appropriate coverage is coordinated when faculty members are out of the office.
  • Gather, organize, and maintain MBM data and related information from faculty members as required by the department.
  • Process routine departmental bills, invoices, and other business-related transactions while ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Serve as a backup for departmental business operations, helping maintain continuity of essential functions during staff absences or periods of increased workload.
  • Provide project and administrative support to the Department Administrator and PM&R faculty, including coordinating information, tracking assignments, preparing materials, and assisting with special departmental initiatives.
  • Coordinate and support the department's annual Promotion and Tenure process for faculty candidates. Responsibilities may include communicating deadlines and requirements, gathering and organizing documentation, maintaining candidate materials, coordinating required reviews, and assisting with timely submission of Promotion and Tenure materials.
  • Maintain organized departmental records and documentation while ensuring appropriate confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and university partners to support efficient day-to-day operations of the department.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned in support of the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.

  • Experience providing administrative or business support in a healthcare, academic, or university environment is preferred.
Shift

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

An Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $17.40 - $23.85 hourly
Grade: GGS - 007
