Team Leader Maintenance

Position Summary: Reporting to the SR. Maintenance & Facility Mgr, this role is responsible for leading a Maintenance Team in their daily tasks, projects, work orders and preventive maintenance for production, the building and grounds. The Team Lead will train and lead others in maintenance tasks and participate in or lead project teams tasked with process improvement, problem resolution and lean initiatives.

Pay Range is typically between $34 - $39 per hour plus a $1.00 shift differential

Primary/Essential Responsibilities:




  • Provide hands-on leadership to assigned team and communicate daily goals, performance, and team member assignments



  • Assist with supervisory tasks and employee performance evaluations with support of area supervisor



  • Perform or assign preventive maintenance and work order functions as directed



  • Perform safety sweeps and employee training (including TWI) as required



  • Responsible for the safety of individuals on the team and that of those impacted by any maintenance activity



  • Assist in resolution of issues found with maintenance equipment repairs



  • Control and source maintenance tools, equipment and spares



  • Assist in running an efficient maintenance operation which is able to fulfill operational and customer demand and meet set targets



  • Participate in and/or manage maintenance projects



  • Communicate effectively with others at various levels using both verbal and written communication skills



  • Control and organize the team's daily work schedule and delegate tasks to the team to ensure maximum effectiveness





  • Perform hands-on labor and other functions within the group to maintain workflow in an efficient manner to ensure on time completion





  • Support continuous improvement projects within assigned area or other areas of expertise as required



  • Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet G&W Safety policies, G&W environmental policies, legal and company requirements



  • Assist in locating equipment parts and work with maintenance clerk to order as needed



  • Manage spare parts cage and work on having critical parts on-hand



  • Perform other duties as required




Required Qualifications:




  • 3-5 years' experience performing work in a proven industrial maintenance environment, specifically with mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment.



  • Must possess the ability for working under pressure: complete assigned tasks under stressful situations and deal with stress and/or emergency situations effectively.



  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED.



  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and coordinate activities within a department comprised of diverse tasks and demanding schedules.



  • Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and schematics.



  • Must have intermediate computer skills in MS Word and Excel.



  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve including use of corrective and preventive actions




Preferred Qualifications:




  • Experience using an (CMMS) Computerized maintenance management system



  • Experience leading a team



  • College degree completed or in process
