Tesla is looking for a highly motivatedCalibrationSupervisorto manage shift teams ofcalibrationtechnicians in Cell Manufacturing.TheCalibration Supervisorwilllead the GFTX Cell Calibration team that delivers comprehensive calibration services for Inspection, Measurement, and Test Equipment (IM&TE) across battery cell manufacturing.This is a floor-owning leadership role. You run the daily board, develop technicians (L1-L4), keep overdue calibrations at or below the site OKR, and takeonroutine workforthe Calibration Engineer.You work closely with theQualityOperationLabsAssociate Manager and Calibration Engineer,willstay hands-on whenassignmentswhen necessary, and build a culture of 5S, documentation, and continuous improvement.The primary objective is to maximize measurement certainty and equipment accuracy while minimizing disruption toproduction.
What You'll Do
- Lead and support a team of calibration techniciansin testing,execution and prioritization, in partnership with the Calibration Engineer
- Standardize lab test execution, data management, andcontinuous improvementwork to raise workflow efficiency and culture
- Maintain the skill matrix, onboard new technicians, and coach for growth
- Oversee IM&TE assets such as material handling, inbound/outbound shipments, vendor troubleshooting, and special off-site calibrations
- Track lab capacity and work efficiency; support production and engineering requests
- Employee performance daily coaching, OT control, and sign-off that L1-L2 techs can run the board without an engineer on the critical path
- Enforce 5S, workplace hygiene, and compliance with calibration test methods and manufacturing instructions
What You'll Bring
- Proven leadership of technical teams (calibration, service, or engineering environment)
- Strong understanding of quality systems in high-volume manufacturing and comfortable in a lab with hazardous materials/chemicals; able to move up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable in a lab with hazardous materials/chemicals, able to move up to 50 lbs. and strong Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Continuous improvement experience (Lean / Six Sigma preferred) and excellent documentation, organization, and communication
- Ability to work long hours and weekends as needed to meet operational demands
- Basic knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, control plans, and quality management systems
- Experience standing up multi-shift coverage and a technician skill matrix
Essential Physical Demands
- Be both capable and willing to perform all the various manual tasks involved with lab work, such as safely moving heavy objects, moving large pallets with a pallet jack, handling incoming materials, etc.
- Must be able to walk multiple flights of stairs and will need tolift upto 25 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
