| Job Summary |
The successful candidate will develop and apply multiscale and multiphysics computational models to investigate electrochemical, mechanical, and thermal coupling in multilayer assemblies for applications such as solid oxide electrolysis cells, lithium-ion batteries, and semiconductor systems. |
| Minimum Education and Experience |
Ph.D in a related field.
Candidates who have successfully completed all requirements for the Ph.D. but whose degree has not yet been formally conferred may be eligible to begin employment provided they submit an official letter from the Registrar or Graduate School of the degree-granting institution certifying that all doctoral requirements have been satisfied and specifying the expected date of conferral. Appointment and continued employment are contingent upon formal conferral of the Ph.D.

| Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
Conduct multiscale/Multiphysics modeling related research under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI).
The successful candidate will develop computational models to establish relationships between microstructural features or interfacial morphology and the electrical, mechanical, and thermal performance of electrochemical and related devices. The candidate should have experience in numerical methods, such as
FEM,
FDM,
FVM,
DEM, with in-house developed solvers and commercial software. Experience in simulating sintering process using phase-field method or
DEM is preferred.
Assist the supervisor in writing scholarly articles and research proposals
The successful candidate will assist with data interpretation and analysis, preparation of figures and plots, graphical design, and development of technical content for journal articles, research reports, and proposals.
Collaborate with other teams and mentor junior researchers
- Conduct weekly group meeting with PI.
- Collaborate with other research groups with regular group meetings and communication.
- Assist the PI in mentoring undergraduate and graduate students involved in related research projects.
