We are seeking aCertified Occupational Therapist Aide to join our team in Philadelphia.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 1st Shift (40 hours) with some flexibility needed.

Pay: 30.46/hour + $2/hour with the selection of Enhanced Pay.

This is a professional role in the field of occupational therapy, focused on the evaluation, planning, implementation, and supervision of therapeutic activities, specific to the Sensory Room for individuals with physical disabilities. The Certified Occupational Therapist Aide (COTA) is responsible for delivering prescribed treatments, monitoring progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed, and maintaining documentation. The COTA provides in-service education to aides and relevant staff, covering topics such as medical terminology, human anatomy, developmental milestones, intellectual disabilities, and therapeutic modalities. The role requires an associate degree of independent judgment, initiative, and problem-solving within established procedures and under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist and Executive Director. The therapist also oversees the work of the employee working in the sensory rooms.

Job Functions of therole:



  • Participate in clinics by identifying individuals needing consultation, collaborating with the team and supporting follow-up care.
  • Implement and recommend treatment plans in accordance with the PA COTA and relevant federal and state regulations for ICF/MR facilities.
  • Provide training and in-service education for professional and non-professional staff and others responsible for individuals in care.
  • Collaborate and consult with other healthcare professionals employed or contracted by the facility.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, ensuring all department equipment is in working order and reporting repair needs promptly.
  • Prepare periodic progress reports and participate in Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals during therapy sessions.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise prescribed Occupational Therapy sessions tailored to individual needs.
  • Contribute to the development and revision of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Co-sign documentation as required and outlined in facility policy.
  • Work collaboratively with facility staff to ensure continuity and consistency in therapy programs and techniques that support individual development and independence.
  • Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations of individuals, adjusting therapy programs based on progress and evolving needs

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:



  • Must have an Associate Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Must meet all certification and licensure requirements as established by the state and national board associations.
  • Active PA state license required. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of AOTA code of ethics and role delineation, including guidelines for supervision is preferred.
  • Exert up to 100lbs occasionally, and/or 50lbs frequently, and/or over 20lbs continuously.
