Job Description

The Veteran Relations Support Specialist provides administrative and program support for the Veterans Clinic's intake and referral process.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Serve as a point of contact for veterans; conduct initial prescreening; gather required information and documentation; explain the intake process and next steps

Monitor the intake pipeline; follow up regarding missing information, documentation, appointments, and outstanding requirements; ensure matters move through the established workflow

Create and maintain accurate records of communications with Veterans, including notes, statuses, documentation, and other data in LegalServer

Schedule intake appointments and callbacks and coordinate with attorneys, law students, and Clinic staff regarding pending matters and next steps

Support Tigers for Troops and other outreach events through pre-screening, scheduling, data entry, and post-event follow-up

Provide approved referral information and coordinate administrative referrals when the Clinic cannot provide assistance

Shift

8:00 am - 5:00 pm with some flexibility as approved by the Director of the Veterans Clinic

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Clerical and phone communications experience

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $21.60 - $26.50 per hour

Grade: GGS 008
