Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  1. Provides leadership in attracting, retaining, and developing an engaged workforce in the delivery of superior services to residents and families.
  2. Coordinates campus-wide Compliance Program and serves as Clearview's Corporate Compliance Officer.
  3. Observes and evaluates nursing care while making routine nursing rounds.
  4. Provides training topics as identified for facility staff as requested by the leadership team.
  5. Prepares and is the primary instructor for nursing assistant core curriculum classes required by the State of Wisconsin nursing assistance certification.
  6. Prepares and is the primary instructor for CBRF Training programs required under State Administrative Code, including Standard precautions, Medication Administration, Fire safety and First aid, and Choking.
  7. Prepares and is an instructor for new hire orientation and mandatory in-services.
  8. Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to ensure maximum student motivation, progress, and completion.
  9. Maintains a high degree of classroom management and case-management to ensure maximum student learning and progress within and through the programs.
  10. Establishes a high degree of student/instructor rapport.
  11. Utilizes all possible curriculum resources available.
  12. Prepares for and instructs scheduled clinicals.
  13. Responsible for the completion and maintenance of student documentation and records as required by the State and the facility. Submits necessary documentation to the State of Wisconsin for inclusion to the State Registries.
  14. Ensures equipment for training is in working condition.
  15. Provides additional individualized training support for student testing.
  16. Provide CPR training and testing for all Licensed Nursing Staff. Complete and maintain required documentation to certify completion of testing.
  17. Follows all regulation requirements to maintain the certification for the facility. Modifies training as required for regulatory changes. Notifies the State and DON as required of curriculum changes.
  18. Maintains trainer eligibility for all training programs.
  19. Develops policy recommendation and implements upon approval as well as drafts department procedures to ensure complete training programs are in place to ensure compliance with current standards of practice.
  20. Responsible to work as RN Supervisor during staffing emergencies.
  21. Other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED JOB COMPETENCIES



  • Ability to instruct others, using training and instructional methods appropriate for the situation when teaching new skills.
  • Knowledge of the principles, standards, practices, and techniques of Skilled nursing.
  • Knowledge of the dangers inherent in and the precautions to be taken in the use of drugs and other medication.
  • Knowledge of local and state rules, regulations, procedures and policies pertaining to nursing services.
  • Ability to assign and supervise the work of professional and nonprofessional personnel and to instruct them in practices and techniques.
  • Ability to accurately maintain patient medical records and prepare reports.
  • Knowledge of electronic records systems.
  • Knowledge of PPE and its proper use for personal safety measures.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all resident care information and assure resident rights and privacy are protected at all times per HIPAA.
  • Knowledge of chemicals used in housekeeping and laundry services including hazardous laundry chemicals and isolation procedures.
  • Ability to create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth and personal interest as well as a clean environment.
  • Ability to work tactfully and cooperatively with residents, families, visitors, and entire staff throughout the organization.
  • Ability to verbally communicate with residents, families, the public, and other members of the organization.
  • Must be able to exhibit a warm, cheerful, caring manner.
  • Must be able to safely perform the essential job functions.


  • Knowledge of management and supervisory practices & principles, including the ability to prepare performance evaluations.
  • Ability to adapt and take control of situations, dictating subordinate activities in a responsible manner.
  • Ability to instruct and train in methods and procedures.
  • Ability to organize, assign, and modify the work assignment of others, and (re)-establish priorities to meet deadlines.

PHYSICAL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT



  • This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 75 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, frequently requires standing, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions and occasionally requires walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Work has standard vision requirements.
  • Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
  • Hearing is required to perceive information in moderately loud conditions.
  • Work frequently requires exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment and occasionally requires exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
  • May work in any area of the facility.
  • May be subject to exposure to infectious wastes, diseases, and medical conditions.
  • Work is primarily in a health care setting where specialized resident programs are implemented.
  • Work environment includes exposure to infectious agents, chemical agents, and resident behaviors.

Qualifications
Education
Associates of Nursing (required)
Experience
Associates degree in Nursing with two (2) years' nursing experience working with the elderly or disabled population groups. Equivalent combination of education and experience which provides necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. (required)
Train the Trainer or equivalent program per State regulations within one (1) year from date of hire. (required)
Must successfully pass caregiver and criminal background check. (required)
Must possess or obtain CPR/First Aid certification upon hire. (required)
Bachelor's degree in nursing.
Previous supervisory experience in a lead role.
