Job Details:

Purpose

Student Government (SG), the Senate of College Councils (SCC), and the Graduate Student Assembly (GSA) comprise the Student Governance Organizations (SGOs) at The University of Texas at Austin. Together, these organizations represent undergraduate and graduate student perspectives on campus life and academic matters. As part of the Student Life portfolio, the SGOs provide flagship student leadership opportunities. This position supports their effective operations and meaningful engagement across the university community.

This position provides administrative and logistical support to all three SGOs, manages daily operations for the SGO suite, and oversees its reception area.


Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary resource for SGO leaders and manage general office operations for the SGO suite.
  • Manage SGO email accounts; respond to requests for information; and screen, route, and follow up on inquiries as appropriate.
  • Schedule meetings, prepare meeting materials, and coordinate room reservations and space requests.
  • Document internal processes and maintain accurate, up-to-date permanent records and files.
  • Assist with purchasing, travel arrangements, and organization management software tools for the SGOs.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Five years experience providing clerical, customer service, or office support or Bachelors degree and one year experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in higher education or a student services environment.
  • Experience supervising, training, or coordinating student employees.
  • Experience coordinating events, meetings, or office operations.
  • Familiarity with university administrative systems and processes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service and student success.
Salary Range

$45,000 + depending on qualifications

Employment Eligibility:

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
