DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports daily center operations by monitoring residents, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring activities follow established procedures. It focuses on guiding re-entrants, documenting key information, and assisting with tasks that help individuals move toward successful community reintegration. As a Corrections Community Center Monitor, you will perform the following duties:
- Resident Monitoring: Observe re-entrant behavior, conduct counts, and document activities through logs, inspections, and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) review
- Search Procedures: Carry out scheduled and unscheduled searches of re-entrants, property, and common areas for prohibited items
- Operational Support: Maintain inventories, manage sign-in and sign-out processes, and oversee movement within the center
- Program Orientation: Explain policies, review rules, assign rooms, and provide information to help new re-entrants adjust to the center
- Accountability Checks: Carry out destination confirmations, administer required tests upon reentrant return, and document outcomes
- Public Interaction: Provide information to visitors, address concerns, and coordinate with law enforcement and other agencies

- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Community Corrections Centers are staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
- Work hours will include different shifts or irregular hours.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $41,999.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Requirements:
- You must be willing and able to work in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
- You must have the ability to work different shifts or irregular scheduled hours.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Two (2) years of experience performing public safety or security work. (Examples of qualifying experience include but are not limited to public safety or security work involving protection of persons and/or property and maintaining required security through enforcement of rules, regulations, and laws; public safety or security work in a correctional setting, juvenile, or adult development/detention center, law enforcement entity, or military security experience)
- One (1) year of work experience providing direction/guidance to individuals. (Examples of qualifying work experience include but are not limited to performing as a lead worker or supervisor assigning and evaluating work tasks, providing informal counseling, or giving orders in the military)

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
