Description

This role provides operational leadership and oversight of the Credit Union's Physical Security program across corporate offices and branches. This position is responsible for the day-to-day execution of security operations, incident response vendor and project oversight. This role ensures consistent execution of security standards, manages the security team and partners closely with cross-functional teams to protect employees, members, facilities and assets. This role leads and supports the security team while partnering closely with cross-functional stakeholders to protect employees, members, facilities and assets.

Essential Functions:

* Manage and execute Physical Security day-to-day operations, including alarms, access control, video and monitoring platforms, ensuring systems are functional, complaint, while ensuring consistent execution across all locations.

* Manage, coach and support the security team with projects, ensure accountability for alarm and incident handling, service ticket management and follow through.

* Manage, plan and partner with Finance on OPEX/CAPEX budgets. Ensure projects and departmental milestones are within approved budgets.

* Manage incident response, escalation and coordination of security related incidents including alarms, suspicious activity, fraud related alerts, etc.

* Support in investigations by ensuring timely documentation, appropriate escalation in coordination with internal stakeholders, vendors and law enforcement as needed.

* Manages risk assessments and compliance activities including physical security risk assessments, facilities risk assessment, CPTED reviews and site walkthroughs for branches and corporate locations.

* Oversee and support compliance efforts by assisting with audits, access reviews, badge permissions, camera access controls and internal and external audit requests.

* Partner closely with IT, Facilities, Workplace Services, Business Continuity and other stakeholders to address systems issues, upgrades and emergency responses.

* Oversee the Security training program, assure that annual, quarterly and monthly trainings are developed and executed.

* Manages Threat Intelligence activities.

* Work closely with the Executive Assistants to manage executive protection.

* Respond to security-related events.

Typical Scope:

* Ensures projects and departmental milestones are met within approved budgets. Implements policy and strategy for short term results (typically within one year). Identifies and resolves day-to-day technical and operational problems. Makes decisions guided by policies, procedures, and business plan that affect cross-team coordination and resource allocation. Operates with autonomy on most decisions, requiring guidance only on complex judgments. Decisions have short- to medium-term impact.

* Works on issues where analysis of situation or data requires review of relevant factors. Tackles moderately complex problems and drives tactical relationships across teams. Demonstrates advanced understanding of their functional area and growing awareness of the broader organization and competitive landscape. Possesses expert-level knowledge in their discipline.

* Manages experienced professionals who exercise independence in their work. Has full authority for personnel actions and is responsible for staff development, resource deployment, and achieving departmental goals. May also contribute individually.

* 4 - 7 Assistant Managers and/or Senior Professionals and below reporting to them.

Education & Experience:

* Required Education: Bachelor's degree in field relevant to role (or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree), advanced degree preferred.

* Required Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience, 0-2 years as a People Leader.

Qualifications & Skills:

* Knowledgeable with NCUA regulations related to Security Programs (Part 748)

* Demonstrated history of effectively managing project and vendor relations

* Advanced knowledge in Flashpoint-threat intelligence

* Strong knowledge of applicable security systems: access control, video surveillance and alarms

* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Ability to manage multiple priorities

* High level organizational skills

* Strong cross-functional collaboration experience: ability to establish credibility and rapport with internal and external stakeholders

* Strong analytical skills to identify risks, assess impacts and recommend practical solutions.

* Certification/License: APP, CPP and/or PSP, CPTED and CSPM are preferred

* Possess the ability to function independently

* Ability to lift up to a minimum of 10 lbs. (maybe more for some roles)

* Role may require extended hours during peak periods (e.g., fiscal close, audits, etc.)
