Electrical Field Service Technician / Substation Testing Technician

Direct Hire | Denton, TX | $40-$70/hour (Based on Experience)

What You'll Do



  • Perform testing, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on transformers, circuit breakers, cables, switchgear, and other substation equipment.
  • Conduct electrical diagnostic testing including power factor, insulation resistance, transformer turns ratio (TTR), winding resistance, partial discharge, breaker timing, contact resistance, SF6 analysis, and related testing.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Support field projects involving power delivery systems, electrical reliability, and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation while following industry safety standards and procedures.



What We're Looking For



  • NETA Level II, III, or IV Certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience in substation testing, electrical commissioning, field service, power distribution, or electrical maintenance.
  • Military electrical experience is highly valued, especially Navy Nuclear, Nuclear Maintenance, Army Prime Power (12P), power generation, or electrical distribution backgrounds.
  • Working knowledge of NETA, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and electrical safety standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and technical documentation skills.
