Introduction to the Department

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in data analytics, reporting, dashboard development, automation, and data visualization using tools and technologies such as Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, SQL, or comparable platforms. Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance reporting, analytics, and business processes is highly desirable.

Reporting to the Web Developer, Lead, this position serves as the primary technical resource for data-driven reporting, analytics, dashboard development, and continuous process improvement within the research administration enterprise. The Data Analyst will transform complex data into meaningful analysis, develop automated reporting solutions, and support strategic decision-making while collaborating with business and technical stakeholders. The incumbent will also maintain sufficient operational knowledge to provide business continuity support for award setup, invoicing, and selected post-award activities as needed.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Data Analyst, Associate are the following:

  • Support our Grant Accounting System (Workday) and related research administration systems.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
  • Write and maintain SQL queries and analytical reports as needed.
  • Support operational and executive reporting needs.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolution.
  • Participate in system testing, upgrades, semi-annual system enhancement releases, and validation.
  • Monitor data integrity and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support data integration, validation, and reconciliation between the Research Portal, Workday Grants, and other institutional systems.
  • Collaborate with functional and technical stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and implement system enhancements that improve business processes and user experience.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and user guides related to enterprise research systems.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience, or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications :

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Workday Financials/Grants or another ERP platform; proficiency with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools; experience with Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, or comparable scripting languages; knowledge of sponsored research administration, including award setup, invoicing, and post-award administration.
