Professional Services Group is now hiring for the Family Safety and Engagement Specialist in the Waukesha SAFE program!

JOB SUMMARY:

The Safety and Family Engagement (SAFE) program in Winnebago County supports families who are referred to our services by the Waukesha County Child and Family Services Department. As the Safety and Family Engagement Specialist, you will work closely with families to maintain safety in homes where children are at risk for removal or who are in the process of reunification. SAFE programming addresses a wide range of concerns, including: safety, parenting, household management, nutrition, safe and stable housing, education, employment, medical needs, mental health, and/or substance abuse issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SAFETY AND FAMILY ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST:



  • Evaluate youth and families for treatment needs and refer to appropriate resources.
  • Analyze client histories, capabilities, and needs to determine services needed to address safety concerns.
  • Implement, evaluate, and review safety assessments and plans.
  • Conduct face-to-face contact with families to ensure safety and cooperation with the safety plan.
  • Serve as part of the Safety Team.
  • Safely transport clients as needed.
  • Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.
  • Act as a resource to evaluate and determine necessary responses in de-escalating and supporting situations with youth and families.


LOCATION: Waukesha, WI. Local travel is required to meet with clients throughout the Waukesha County community. After 60-day training period is complete, position offers flexibility for hybrid/remote scheduling up to two days per week.

SCHEDULE: Full-time 40 hours per week. Evening availability is required. Shifts are scheduled based upon client need within operational hours of 6:00am-9:00pm Monday-Friday, with a 4-week weekend rotation.

SALARY: $22.00 per hour

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license, and automobile insurance.
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related.
