The mission of the School of Social Work is to advance equity, transform systems, and improve lives. The School's curriculum supports the mission and recognizes the uniqueness of the region served, including concerns for disadvantaged, vulnerable, and oppressed individuals, families, and communities. Classes provide rigorous and evidence-based content, and give students the opportunity to explore theory, learn intervention skills and engage in challenging dialogue with colleagues. The School works to become the leading school of social work for impact - generating knowledge with powerful and positive consequences. The School of Social Work offers M.S.W. and Ph.D. degrees. Dual degrees are offered in Law, Public Health, Public Administration, and Divinity (with Duke University). The faculty members of the School of Social Work have strong collaborative relationships with many campus units such as the Schools of Medicine, Public Health, Nursing, Law, Government, Education, and the Department of City and Regional Planning as well as University Centers and Institutes such as the Cecil G. | Position Summary |
Hybrid:
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. If business needs change, an individual employee's designation may be adjusted with a required minimum of ten (10) business days' notice unless employee conduct or safety issues necessitate otherwise at the discretion of management. The BSW Student Services Manager provides coordination for student services within the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Program in the UNC School of Social Work. The BSW Student Services Manager reports to the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education, and supports key functions across the undergraduate student experience, including admissions and recruitment, degree progress, student data management, reporting, and coordination with University offices. As the BSW program scales to full implementation, the Student Services Manager will provide oversight of systems and processes that support students from application through graduation. The Student Services Manager is responsible for BSW admissions administration and student data management, coordinating recruitment and admissions activities, and developing and maintaining student data systems, reports, and dashboards. This position analyzes and synthesizes data across the student lifecycle to identify data-related trends, emerging needs, and opportunities for improvement, and provides actionable information to BSW leadership to support program planning, assessment, accreditation, and decision-making. As a member of the BSW leadership team, the Student Services Manager collaborates with BSW leadership, faculty, staff, and University partners to ensure coordinated and student-centered services. This position develops expertise in relevant University and School policies, systems, and resources to help ensure BSW practices align with University and School requirements. |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
| Management Preferences |
- Demonstrated experience coordinating student services in higher education, including admissions, recruitment, enrollment management, student support, or related functions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate complex processes.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate student records and translate findings into actionable information.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
