Position Description: Under the direction of the VP of Benefits and in partnership with the HQ Benefits team, administer and maintain the employee leave of absence program for one or more Business Centers, ensuring compliance, policy consistency, case management and exceptional employee support. Location: This position is full-time onsite in our San Diego, Irvine, Los Angeles, or Walnut Creek office with some travel throughout the west region. Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary point of contact for employees leaves of absence, reasonable accommodations, and benefits-related inquiries, providing timely and compliant guidance and exceptional employee support for one more Business Centers
- Administer and oversee leaves for multiple office locations in one or more Business Centers for leaves including but not limited to, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), California Family Rights Act (CFRA),
- Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL), Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA),military leave, personal leave, and Short-Term and Long-Term Disability (STD/LTD) programs
- Manage full lifecycle of leave cases, including the initiation of the employee leave, eligibility determination, tracking, communication, coordination of benefits , payroll impact,, and return-to-work processes.
- Partner with Human Resources team, management and employees to evaluate and implement reasonable accommodations as part of the ADA interactive process
- Comply with applicable Federal, State, and local leave, disability, accommodation, and employment laws and regulations.
- Monitor Federal, State, and local legislative and regulatory changes, escalate and review potential impact to policies, procedures, and practices, collaborate with stakeholders for program changes.
- Collaborate directly with Benefits, HR, Payroll, Legal, and third-party administrators, such as disability carriers, to resolve complex leave and accommodation matters.
- Maintain accurate leave and accommodation records within HR systems and conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Support payroll processes, audit leave-related transactions to ensure accurate pay.
- Prepare analysis and support the presentation of leave, accommodation, and compliance reports to HR leadership
- Support the development and updates of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
- Anticipate opportunities for process improvement and propose solutions to enhance efficiency, compliance, and employee experience.

The salary range for this position is estimated to be 120,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD annualized.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field of study, with minimum of 8 years of experience administering leave of absence programs, including ADA accommodations and related compliance requirements, and minimum of 2 years of leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- For California: Minimum of 8 years of experience administering leave of absence programs in California, including ADA accommodations and related compliance requirements
- Experience in Oregon and Washington is a plus
- Certified Leave Management Specialist (CLMS) designation from DMEC, or willingness to obtain
- Professional Human Resources certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) or related, preferred
- In-depth knowledge of and experience administering Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), California Family Rights Act (CFRA), Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL), Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), workers' compensation coordination, and other federal, state, and local leave programs
- Experience with multi-state PFML program administration
- Experience working with third-party leave and disability administrators
- Experience within construction industry and/or large, complex organization of 3000+ employee population preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex and sensitive matters
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment and discretion with information and communications
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to build trusted and collaborative relationships to effectively engage stakeholders across organizational levels and externally
- Project management experience, skilled in managing concurrent priorities and able to meet deadlines, working in fast-paced environment
- Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office applications with intermediate Excel skills, HR systems and reporting and collaborative tools (e.g. Teams, SharePoint)
- Limited travel with ability to work additional hours as needed to support business requirements
