Job Overview

The Business Solutions and Automation Specialist at Children's Hospital Colorado Foundation (Foundation) is responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying opportunities for optimization, implementing automation solutions, supporting the adoption of AI-enabled tools and capabilities across the organization, and overseeing the process for implementation of IT solutions.
This role partners with stakeholders to understand operational challenges, document and improve business processes across the organization, design and deliver automation solutions, and evaluate emerging AI technologies that improve productivity, operational efficiency, and team member experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

Business Process Improvement
Develop an understanding of how work is performed across the Foundation and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and user experience.
* Document current-state ("As-Is") business processes. Create process maps, workflows, diagrams, and operational documentation.
* Identify process bottlenecks, redundancies, delays, and control gaps.
* Analyze data to understand process performance and trends.
* Recommend improvements that reduce manual effort and improve fundraising outcomes.
* Collaborate with team members to validate process requirements and proposed solutions, and to redesign initiatives that improve processes across operational and administrative functions.
Business Process Optimization and Automation
Design, develop, test, implement, and support automation solutions that streamline business operations and improve efficiency.
* Design workflow and automation solutions using Microsoft Power Platform and other approved technologies.
* Integrate business applications through APIs and connectors.
* Develop and support testing, validation, deployment, and user acceptance activities.
* Troubleshoot and maintain automation solutions.
* Monitor automation performance and utilization.
* Train employees on new tools and document standard operating procedures
AI Adoption Support
Assist the organization in evaluating, implementing, testing, and adopting Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities that improve productivity and business outcomes.
* Identify opportunities to incorporate AI into business processes and workflows. Collaborate with team to understand AI adoption needs and challenges.
* Provides advocacy and awareness for AI capabilities. Designs training programs to boost employee awareness, accelerate tool adoption, and build a tech-forward workplace culture.
* Provide recommendations for productivity improvements through AI-enhanced workflows.
* Support pilots and proof-of-concept initiatives involving AI technologies.
* Assist in configuring and testing Microsoft Copilot Studio, AI Builder, and related solutions.
* Develop user guides, training materials, and knowledge resources for AI-enabled tools.
* Monitor AI solution effectiveness and gather user feedback.
* Support responsible AI practices, governance, security, and compliance requirements.
* Collaborate with Hospital IT department to scale existing technology solutions.
IT Project Administration
Manage intake, coordination, and administration of projects
* Collaborate interdepartmentally to identify project goals and outline scope with timelines and deliverables.
* Align efforts with short-and long-term organizational goals.
* Monitor project progress and milestones and communicate with involved stakeholders to ensure timelines, deliverables, and objectives are on target.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience

A minimum of 5 years professional experience in IT business system analysis, process improvement, operations, automation, project management, or related field. Including at least 2 years of experience designing, implementing, or supporting workflow automation solutions. This position will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to do this job:
* Demonstrated experience partnering with stakeholders to identify needs, analyze business processes, and execute technology solutions that improve outcomes.
* Experience serving as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams, by translating business requirements into practical technology solutions.
* Experience facilitating requirements gathering sessions, process workshops, and stakeholder interviews to understand business challenges and opportunities.
* Solid working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including SharePoint, Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps.
* Familiarity with APIs, system integration, data workflows, and business application connectivity.
* Familiarity with emerging AI technology and productivity-focused AI tools.
* Demonstrated independent execution of projects and automation solutions
* Demonstrated ability to educate and coach end users on technology solutions and experience developing user guides, training resources, and communication materials for a diverse audience of learners.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience supporting nonprofit, fundraising, or mission-driven organizations.
* Familiarity with Blackbaud CRM systems, donor databases, fundraising operations and/or revenue generating business functions.
* Understanding of how technology solutions support fundraising effectiveness, donor engagement, stewardship, and operational/performance efficiencies.

Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $79,000.00 to $107,120.00
