Position Summary
As an Accounting Manager, you will have a broad range of responsibilities across the monthly financial close and day-to-day accounting operations. This role interfaces with foreign entities and third-party service providers and supports local operations, quarterly and annual financial reporting, local compliance requirements, and external audits. You will collaborate with cross-functional and international accounting teams, prepare schedules and analyses, and support initiatives that improve standardization, automation, and close efficiency.
Responsibilities
Supervise the monthly general ledger close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial reports and analyses. Prepare quarterly flux analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts for management review. Coordinate, review, and approve designated internal financial reports and deliverables. Remain current on new accounting guidance and work with the technical accounting team to implement new accounting pronouncements and transactions impacting the financial statements, ensuring compliance with Fortinet policies and procedures. Coordinate with cross-functional teams on projects and unusual transactions; obtain transaction information, research reconciling items, and resolve accounting issues. Manage and oversee local accounting service providers to ensure compliance with Fortinet policies and statutory requirements, and review the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of accounting support and deliverables. Work closely with international accounting teams to ensure consistent application of accounting policies and procedures. Coordinate with outsourced compliance officers to monitor local regulatory requirements and ensure accurate and timely government filings and compliance reporting. Participate in financial transformation initiatives, implement process improvements, and establish best practices to improve standardization and accelerate close timing. Develop and enhance accounting processes and controls to support accurate monthly and quarterly financial reporting. Lead automation initiatives involving accounting systems and applications related to accounting operations and reporting processes. Drive and manage projects focused on standardization, process improvement, and accelerated close timelines. Assist with ad hoc projects and management inquiries.
Essential Functions
Review and post journal entries and manage monthly close activities. Review Staff Accountant work for accuracy and completeness. Review monthly account reconciliations across a variety of accounting areas. Maintain supporting documentation required to substantiate accounting data. Maintain general ledger accounts to meet business and financial reporting requirements. Prepare schedules supporting cash flow reporting and SEC disclosures. Perform flux analysis at both the U.S. and consolidation levels.
Qualifications & Competencies
Hands-on experience in international accounting. Strong technical accounting expertise and knowledge of U.S. GAAP. Strong general ledger accounting skills. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Oracle experience highly preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively under pressure. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Flexible and comfortable working in an environment of continuous change, with a willingness to take on new challenges. High degree of dedication to continuous improvement and a strong sense of ownership. CPA and Big 4 accounting experience highly valued. Previous public technology company experience highly valued. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. Earnings for this position are expected to be $118,000 - $180,000. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program, Bonus eligibility is reviewed at time of hire and annually at the Company's discretion
