United States, New York, Ithaca

Department Summary

eCornell delivers expertly crafted online certificate programs designed by Cornell University faculty. Our facilitators play a central role in creating dynamic, engaging, and highly interactive learning experiences. We are committed to providing an exceptional student experience through live interactions, meaningful feedback, and authentic engagement.

The Opportunity

We are seeking experienced professionals to join our team as Course Facilitators in our AI Strategy and Organizational Change portfolio. Facilitators are not course authors or adjunct faculty but are vital to ensuring the effective delivery of content created by Cornell faculty.

In this role, you will complement our asynchronous course content by:

  • Leading engaging live sessions that engage students in discussion of AI strategy, AI-enabled business transformation, and the organizational change required to realize value from AI.
  • Providing personalized and constructive feedback (written and recorded video) on discussion boards, assignments, and multi-part applied course projects such as AI opportunity assessments, workflow redesigns, business model innovations, venture derisking plans, and AI transformation strategies.
  • Coaching learners to connect AI capabilities, frameworks, and case examples to the real-world opportunities and challenges in their own roles, teams, and organizations.
  • Fostering meaningful connections with students in a highly interactive online environment.

To be considered for this position, please include a cover letter with your application materials.

Cover letter instructions [IMPORTANT]

As part of the Course Facilitator position at eCornell, video interaction with students is a key component of the role. Facilitators are expected to engage with students through live video sessions and in response to project submissions. Video interactions allow facilitators to better engage with students, provide real-time feedback, and create an inclusive and personable learning experience.

As such, we encourage applicants to submit a video response to the question below using Loom. While submitting the video is optional, it is highly encouraged.

  • Answer the following question in a short video (3 minutes max):

What excites you most about facilitating at eCornell, and how would you bring that enthusiasm into your interactions with students?

  • Record your response using Loom (free service).
  • Copy and paste the video link into your cover letter.

Program-Specific Focus

Facilitators will support AI Strategy and Organizational Change certificate programs, to help business leaders understand what AI can and cannot do, identify where it creates value, and lead the organizational transformation required to capture that value.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas, with the ability to explain these concepts to working professionals:

  • Understanding AI and digital technology capabilities from a business perspective, including perceptive, generative, reasoning, and agentic AI; the core ideas behind them (machine learning, reinforcement learning, and pre-training); their strengths and limitations; and how AI compares with past general-purpose and "abundance" technologies.

Assessing how roles, skills, managerial scope and span, and organizational structures must change to build an AI-first organization and a digital builder culture.
  • Driving AI-powered growth and strategy, including rethinking business models (scope, timing, revenue models, intermediaries, operating models, and industry ecosystems), building defensible competitive advantage when AI is widely accessible, and evaluating resource dependencies and commoditization risks.
  • Derisking and delivering AI transformation, including the learn-it-all, discovery-driven mindset; decomposing and prioritizing venture risks; designing prototypes, pilots, and business experiments (e.g., A/B tests and difference-in-differences studies); selecting performance metrics and interpreting data-based evidence; prioritizing a portfolio of AI initiatives; making build vs. buy decisions; and leading change across people and systems.

  • Has experience leading or advising on organizational change, including redesigning roles and teams, building workforce skills and AI literacy, and fostering an experimentation-oriented, "builder" culture.
  • Applies a discovery-driven, data-informed approach to decision-making, including defining metrics, designing pilots or experiments, and interpreting evidence.
  • Is familiar with the ethical, legal, and regulatory considerations surrounding AI in business, such as data privacy, intellectual property, liability, bias, and responsible AI governance
