About the Faculty Instructor - Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Position The Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin and Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas (DCMCCT) seeks qualified candidates for a one or two year faculty instructor position in pediatric cardiac surgery. Under the direction of Dr. Charles Fraser Jr., Dell Children's Medical Center and Dell Medical School have launched the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease. This instructor position offers the opportunity to work with internationally-recognized physician leaders. Candidates will possess experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease. Qualified candidates should also have completed an AGME-accredited cardiothoracic residency program or an international equivalent. Primary responsibilities will include provision of direct care to patients prior to, during, and after cardiac surgery. The candidate will be looking to advance his/her knowledge in Congenital Heart Surgery and patient care management. A successful candidate will have a faculty appointment within the Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care at Dell Medical School and regular participation in educational activities with medical students and residents will be expected. Opportunities for collaboration with medical and adjunct specialties will be encouraged to allow for the pursuit of innovative program development and clinical research initiatives.
