We are currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead and manager our Kalispell, MT office. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer looking for a step up in their career!

Senior Civil Engineer/Kalispell Site Leader

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will lead team members as Project Manager in detailed engineering analysis and preparation of engineering reports, plans and specifications, permit applications, and construction documents. Provide guidance to teams through the design process and navigate through permitting and government regulations while maintaining clear communication with clients and team members. Act as a liaison between the client and IMEG using appropriate staff to guide projects to their successful completion on budget and on schedule in accordance with the Core Values. Responsible for providing a high level of leadership, mentoring and training for less experienced staff in the following areas: technical, project management, marketing, and/or business development. Principal Responsibilities
  • Lead Kalispell site, responsible for business development, staffing and client relations.
  • Make major design recommendations and design decisions with little input from senior staff.
  • Plan design work by discipline for all project sizes and assign duties to staff working on projects.
  • Review correspondence and work product prepared by junior staff.
  • Actively participate in quality control of projects.
Technical Path:
  • Contribute to leadership in some aspect of our Technical Operations Team for both large and small projects.
  • Act as an advisor and analyze technical problems/write reports.
  • Play a significant role in project reviews for quality control for large complex projects.
  • Provide technical assistance to help resolve field issues. Must be able to visit project sites and resolve technical issues with very little assistance from other senior staff.
Project Management Path:
  • Effectively serve as Project Manager on large complex projects or multiple smaller projects.
  • Identify prospective clients, assist in marketing to develop new clients, and prepare proposals for services.
  • Consistently bring work into the firm with existing or new clients and participate in presentations to clients.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and performance tracking for engineering projects
  • Assist with setting weekly schedules and attend weekly meetings with other Project Managers to discuss future staffing needs.
Skills
  • Leadership traits in either the Technical or Project Management Path items.
  • Mastery of the technical aspects of one's discipline.
  • Ability to mentor, motivate, and lead others.
  • Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.
Education and experience
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering
  • 8 years of experience
  • Professional Engineer license
