Department:PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT Organizational Unit:Roadway and Bridge (50000074) Position Type:Permanent Full Time/Part Time:Full Time Open Until Filled. $3,847.73 to $4,232.50 biweekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Performs skilled administrative work, planning, implementing, and directing complex projects and services provided by the County's Road & Bridge Program, which includes the Maintenance, Construction, Landscape, and Heavy Equipment Fleet divisions. Supervision is given to professional, technical, and clerical staff. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a closely related field PLUS nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in the maintenance and construction of transportation infrastructure, including roads, drainage, and bridges, and which includes five (5) years in a responsible supervisory and/or managerial role. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. A Master's degree in Public Administration, Organizational Management, or Organizational Leadership is preferred. Local government experience is preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within nine (9) months of employment, a current Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)/Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) certification and maintain said certification during the term of employment. Must possess, or successfully complete within twelve (12) months of employment, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) ICS-100, ICS-200, G300, G-499, ICS-700, and ICS-800 certification training. Must be able to respond to twenty-four (24) hour calls and be able to work irregular hours and respond to emergency situations at night and on weekends and holidays, as necessary. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
