Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering The Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering in the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources at West Virginia University invites applications for the position of Post-Doctoral Fellow. This position will conduct research on high-temperature electrochemistry for energy materials, including solid oxide fuel cells/electrolysis cells, etc. and carry out research activities including but not limited to materials synthesis, process development, device fabrication, electrochemical characterization/analysis. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: plan laboratory experiments to confirm feasibility of processes and techniques used in the production of materials having special characteristics in solid oxide cell electrochemical systems; search scientific literature to select and modify methods and procedures most appropriate for research goals; write research papers and project reports; mentor graduate students/undergraduate students in related research projects, including providing guidance on experimental techniques, data analysis methods, etc.; and provide aid on grant proposals to secure funding for their work. Morgantown, including its vicinity, has a diverse population of about 62,000 residents and is ranked highly among the most livable small cities in the country. Eligible candidates must hold an Ph. D in materials science, chemical, or electrical engineering, or a related area and two (2) years of experience in electrochemical research.
