Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. Serving three primary markets - passenger vehicle, commercial truck, and off-highway equipment - Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.


Tasks and Responsibilities:

The Toolmaker occupation is responsible for making fixtures, gauges, master gauges and tooling used in the manufacture, heat treat, test lab and assembly of Dana's products. Other responsibilities include the repair of worn or broken tooling, the repair of worn or broken machine components, re-working existing tooling into new tools, cleaning and repair of chucks, etc.

Tool maker must also be capable of operating all tool room machinery in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner.

Knowledge & Skills Summary:



  • Applicant must be capable of holding tight tolerances.
  • Math skills required.
  • Applicant must be capable of interpreting complex blueprints


Education and Work Experience:

Apprenticeship - 5 years or more in the trade preferred, but not required.

Journeyman - Applicants must have a journeyman card or have eight (8) years of documented experience in this trade.
