Job Summary
The RFID Lab at Auburn University is accepting applications for the position of Field Program Coordinator. This position will oversee the growing field and audit programs within the lab.

Temporary Employment Services ( TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:

  • Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
  • Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
  • Assistance with special projects
  • Seasonal work
  • Emergencies

Essential Functions

  • Oversees the daily program operations to meet schedules, adhere to standard procedures, and meet reporting requirements.
  • Meets with potential clients of the lab to expand research to new retail environments.
  • Ensures that employees adhere to standard procedures in order to assure quality of data.
  • Develops, plans, and implements projects within the field team program while ensuring that data quality is kept.
  • Determines how to translate data into usable, actionable information.
  • Supports the lab in the endeavors of potential funded research by preparing demonstrations and/or program-related presentations from the data collected in the field each day.
  • Provide oversight in student team management including data collection tests, RFID tagging items in a retail environment and testing with a RFID reader to determine the quality and readability of the tags, and perform in-store barcode/inventory audits.
  • May travel for field audits, events, and research as necessary.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Technically capable with ability to quickly become familiar with new hardware, software, and processes.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from partner locations outside of regular business hours.

Desired Qualifications
RFID experience preferred.
