Description
The UI/UX Intern will assist in designing the UI/UX for our clinical documentation systems. As CliniComp, Intl. develops its next wave of healthcare technology solutions, the UI/UX Intern will support the team in ensuring that clinical clients have an optimal experience with our systems. This role is ideal for a candidate who is eager to learn and contribute to designing innovative healthcare applications by assisting with user research, developing user personas, contributing to the development of design systems, building prototypes, and supporting execution of design solutions from ideation through development.
*This is an in-person internship located in our San Diego office Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product owners, subject matter experts, and developers to support the creation of high-quality clinical software solutions.
- Support the end-to-end design process, including UX research, wireframes, prototypes, and detailed documentation.
- Work alongside Senior UI/UX Designers to develop and maintain design documentation, such as component libraries, style guides, and UI/UX product specifications.
- Assist in building out the design system/component library used by the UI/UX Team.
- Engage with subject matter experts to help develop a user persona library to support user-centered design practices.
- Demonstrate user workflows and ideas through process flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-ups.
- Actively participate in interdisciplinary group critiques of product design and development.
- Understand, empathize with, and advocate for end users.
- Research and leverage innovative interaction design trends, including mobile interfaces, touch base interfaces, speech interfaces, and emerging XR technologies.
Requirements
This position requires you to be in San Diego, CA.
Education
- Minimum of a high school diploma/GED.
Required
- Currently pursuing a degree in in human-computer interaction, computer science, graphic design, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or other design tools.
- Experience working collaboratively with product, engineering, and business teams throughout the product development life cycle to iterate on and deliver a user experience of the highest standard.
- A strong portfolio showcasing your design skills and creativity.
Preferred
- Completed degree in human-computer interaction, computer science, graphic design, or a related field.
- Understanding of Material UI (MUI) and React libraries. * Experience with user research and user testing.
- Familiarity with the agile development process or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
- Knowledge of WCAG/Aria standards, components, design patterns, as well as their behaviors, constraints, and rules.
This internship position is open to students authorized to work in the United States.
Benefits
The hourly compensation for this temporary, intern position is $34.55-$43.93 per hour.
