Utilize your skills and knowledge, while growing your career as a Staff Research Technician (SRA 2). With guidance from the Laboratory Manager and Principal Investigator, the Staff Research Technician will assist in the development of genomic testing and analyses for Federally-funded projects.

Duties include:

  • Performing PCR analysis on large volumes of assays.
  • Sequencing assays, and performing proliferation assays.
  • Cataloguing results on the clinical database.
  • Reposting outlying results.
  • Isolation of RNA and DNA from swabs.
  • Preparation of protein lysates and performing western blots as needed.

Salary range: $28.88 - $46.46 Hourly

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Experience in biology, microbiology or related area.
  • Ability to perform gel electrophoresis.
  • Experience in cell culture procedures.
  • Ability to perform RNA analysis.
  • Ability to organize raw data into relevant format.
  • Skills in isolation of biological materials, (DNA, RNA and protein) from tissues and cell lines as well as the cataloging and management of resources using relational computer database.

Experience tissue culture, cell maintenance type work as well as cell proliferations assays is preferred.
