Job Description Summary:

The Machine Shop Coordinator supports all general machine shop operations and communicates effectively with teammates and internal and external customers. This individual will work closely with the Machine Shop Supervisor to process incoming work requests, procure files/materials, track job status and facilitate the smooth execution of work from receipt to delivery. The individual should have knowledge of general machine shop fabrication practices and processes and be resourceful enough to pull in appropriate subject matter experts when needed. The ideal candidate will be willing to grow with the machine shop and evolve their role and responsibilities as needed.

Daily tasks will include but are not limited to:

*Opening and closing work orders
*Working with buyers/planners to order stock materials, hardware, tooling, etc.
*Working with the calibration lab to ensure shop equipment is up to date in the calibration system
*Tracking chemicals, limited life materials, tools and other consumables to maintain supply on hand
*Communicating with engineering on shop processes, required information, lead times, status updates, etc.
*Helping to develop and grow the general shop operating procedures as we transition towards AS9100 certification and consistent production pedigree work.
*Coordinating with internal and external vendors for post processing applications such as heat treat, chromate, anodize, etc.
*Maintaining and developing job scheduling and capacity planning tools
*Assisting with coordinating facilities updates, machine repairs and new equipment purchases

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities
* Work with Cal Lab to ensure lab equipment is up to date with calibration.
* Coordinate transfer of equipment between work area and Cal lab.
* Escort Cal lab personnel for on-site calibration and ESD bench certification.
* Tracking hardware builds.
* Update and provide travelers and work orders to technicians.
* Update quality control spreadsheets on production status and process changes.
* Tracking chemicals, limited life materials, and other materials and consumables.
* Manage preventative maintenance, order parts and schedule maintenance.
* Track of inventory control/needs.
* Work with vendors to obtain quotes for supplies and materials
* Submit purchase orders to buyers.

Skills/Abilities
* Excellent attention to detail and very strong organizational skills.
* Excellent communication with facility users and engineering team.
* Experience with lab/facility operations management.
* Familiarity with MRP Security.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent required, Associates degree in Operations or Business is preferred.

Experience
5+ years of experience in a lab or facility operations management role.

Additional Job Description:
