What is the opportunity?

The Manger, US IT Regulatory Risk Management will report to the Senor Director of US IT Risk. The US IT Risk team is responsible for providing a comprehensive view of IT Risk across Royal Bank of Canada's US business units - Capital Markets, Wealth Management, Global Asset Management, City National Bank and RBC Bank. The team is responsible for overseeing risk management practices, reporting to the US Board, conducting risk assessments, ensuring that appropriate controls are in place, and engaging with US regulators on continuous monitoring, exams, and remediation programs.

What will you do?

  • Maintain a current understanding of Bank policies and procedures in compliance with New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS), Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), and any other applicable regulations
  • Create and manage tracking mechanisms to ensure timely and complete remediation of compliance-related issues, deficiencies, or regulatory matters
  • Work across the organization to gather and catalog data and controls to support the Compliance-led Risk Assessment processes
  • Work across the Enterprise to ensure timely compliance related updates Enterprise Policies and Procedures
  • Work with SMEs to identify control weaknesses or gaps and work with department managers, internal sponsors, and third-party management to correct deficiencies. In addition, be an active participant in helping to identify the root cause of issues identified
  • Analyze and calibrate assessment results and provide recommendations for risk mitigation
  • Create and maintain risk management reports for various management forums and Committees
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on IT risk-related initiatives to provide recommendations and guidance to manage risks within the Bank's risk appetite

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT risk management, preferably in large financial services firms
  • Prior experience developing/managing Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
  • Familiarity with US IT regulatory requirements (e.g., OCC Heightened Standards, FFIEC Handbooks, GLBA, NYDFS)

Nice-to-have

  • Prior experience in IT Risk Management within the cyber security space
  • Understanding of tech governance

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $110,000 to $190,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
