JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Familias Unidas is a family skill-building program for Latino families. Specifically, this program targets Spanish-speaking parents/caregivers of youth ages 12-16. The program involves 8 weekly, 2-hour parent group meetings with approximately 10-12 families, and four individual, one-hour home visits with each family to discuss challenges and ways to apply the information learned in the parent sessions.

Familias Unidas is designed to:

  • Help parents to improve their communication and monitoring of youth
  • Help parents to develop strong partnerships with their children's schools
  • Reduce substance misuse and delinquent behaviors in youth
  • Reduce risky sexual behaviors in youth.

We are seeking interested adults to be trained as Familias Unidas facilitators with:

  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Experience working with parents/caregivers and/or youth
  • Ability to be flexible with individuals and activities
  • Bilingual Spanish-English
  • Enthusiasm for family skill building programs

This job requires the following 3 publicly available clearances:

  • PA State Police Criminal Background Check
  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form
  • FBI Criminal Background Check
