Job Description

Job Summary:

Maintenance Mechanics are directly responsible for maintaining plant machinery and equipment by performing preventive maintenance work, troubleshooting and machine repairs. This includes but not limited to: air compressors and compressed air dryers, chillers, cooling towers, liquid and vacuum pumps, blow molding machines and equipment, Automated leak prevention systems, high-speed camera systems, conveyor systems, palletizers, strappers, ticketers and stretch wrappers.

Specific Responsibilities / Essential Functions

  • Provides support to the Production Team in order to meet the needs of our customers. Works closely with all plant coworkers to ensure that Amcor's quality standards are being upheld.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve the operation, maintenance of equipment, production systems and works with the team to implement improvements.
  • Performs preventive maintenance work, troubleshoot and repair production equipment.
  • Ensures that the PM paperwork and computer entry are completed accurately.
  • Executing Work Orders for PM's and corrective actions.
  • Performs machine and equipment change overs.
  • Troubleshoot equipment using PLC software with a high degree of competency.
  • Read electrical schematics and identify symbols and control circuits with a high degree of competency.
  • Daily reviews, completes and closes out open work orders in a timely manner. Updates work orders with part numbers and requisition numbers.
  • Maintains cleanliness of all blow mold equipment, maintenance shop and plant facilities.
  • Must be willing and able to learn new equipment.
  • Must be willing to remain on an assignment until a job is completed or until released by their Lead, Supervisor or Manager.
  • Performs building maintenance as needed.
  • Participates in training operators on regular basis.
  • Must be able to identify and interpret safety data sheets provided by AMCOR.
  • Communicates diligently with operators to control issues with machinery.
  • Follows all established safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Amcor Safety Commitment and as trained.
  • Immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions, or accidents.
  • Product Safety regarding cleanliness and notification of any observations that may create a product safety risk to our customers.
  • Performs daily duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager or Shift Lead, including being present for the shift change meeting.
  • Completes computer-based training in a timely manner.
  • Able to comply with OSHA regulations.
  • Able to work modified shift, including 12-hour shifts day or nights, including weekends and holidays

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Minimum 5 years' experience of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

Pay: from $28.70 per hour
