Job DescriptionJob Description Quality Manager Salary Grade: 16 Basic Function:Direct the quality assurance program for the plant. Supervises the quality control lead and technicians in performance of duties relating to inspection, laboratory testing, statistical process control and auditing (internal and 3rd party). Implement, maintain and modify as appropriate the plant's quality management system to improve business operating systems and meet the requirements of customer and best practice audits. Lead/assist production and warehouse leadership with the corrective action of quality related problems at the plant and/or customer location and start-up of new products/processes. Assist in troubleshooting technical problems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting Relationships: This position reports directly to the Plant Manager. Experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Education and Experience: Bachelor degree in a technical discipline preferred. Five years related experience in a quality assurance leadership role in a manufacturing organization. Experience in blow molding manufacturing and product safety experience. Knowledge of SPC, IT systems and problem solving techniques. Experience with ISO 9000/QS 9000 quality systems. Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communications skills required. Ability to write effective reports and business correspondence is required. Incumbent must possess excellent interpersonal and presentation skills and be able to effectively communicate across various levels of the organization. Technical Skills: Strong mathematical abilities are required for this position, including probability and statistics inference, fundamentals of geometry, trigonometry, and statistics. Strong process knowledge in blowmolding molding is preferred. Reason: must have the ability to analyze and define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
